Een handvol verse vogelmuur kan in de blender worden gemixt met vruchten- of groentesap. Je kunt het ook bereiden als spinazie of er een lekker kopje thee van zetten.
Chickweed has a very long history of herbal use, being particularly beneficial in the external treatment of any kind of itching skin condition. Many internal uses are mentioned as well.
The leaves contain saponins. Although toxic, these substances are very poorly absorbed by the body and so tend to pass through without causing harm. They are also broken down by thorough cooking. It is advisable not to eat large quantities. Should not be used during pregnancy or during breastfeeding.
