Description: Grasses, incl. bamboes, 4–8(–10) m tall.
Distributions: Native to hunan province of china, and widely cultivated elsewhere.
Habitat: Riparian zones, disturbed sites, waste areas, roadsides, gardens and urban bushland in subtropical and warmer temperate environments.
Year cycle: Perennial (trees and shrubs included)
Hardiness: 5 - 14 f (hardy - cold winter)
